ABOUT ME

As an international social entrepreneur, speaker, educator and executive coach, I am committed to amplifying the voices and impact of purpose-driven leaders worldwide.

Storytelling is in my DNA.  My late father, Dr. John Ruganda, was Uganda’s preeminent dramatist, and my mother, Hilda Rwabazaire Paqui, was an on-air Ugandan television personality and later a senior communications official with the United Nations Development Programme - sharing stories of people around the world whose lives were impacted by UNDP activities.

Like them, I believe in the power of stories. I am an international social entrepreneur, executive coach, educator, and speaker, and I help purpose-driven leaders worldwide to clarify, develop and share their stories in order to increase their impact.  When you share your story, you invite others to learn what makes you unique, and you inspire them to support you…thereby amplifying your voice and enhancing your visibility.

As a social entrepreneur, last year I founded The International Social Impact Institute, which – through initiatives with the King Baudouin Foundation US; Nelson Mandela University (South Africa); Hunter College, City University of New York; The Resource Alliance (UK) and the Arcus Foundation – aims to amplify the voices of social impact leaders from historically marginalized communities (in the US and around the world), facilitate interactions among such leaders and assist in training more of them.

As an Executive Coach, through my firm, Liz Ngonzi Transforms, I enable purpose-driven leaders worldwide to define and tell their stories, accomplish their objectives, and align their paycheck with their purpose.  Through the Bank of America Institute for Women’s Entrepreneurship at Cornell University, I facilitate online courses for and coach women entrepreneurs on their venture creation journey.

As an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Fundraising at New York University, where I teach the popular Digital Storytelling, Innovation and Fundraising course, and as a trainer to organizations such as Cornell University Alumni Affairs and Development, Candid and Vital Voices Global Partnerships, I have delivered courses and training to thousands of professionals from organizations on six continents, teaching them how to activate their supporters through effective storytelling.

As an international public speaker, I frequently address audiences about leadership, personal branding, digital storytelling, and digital innovations facilitating social impact.  I have spoken on these topics before audiences (in-person and virtually) at ENGIE North America; Harvard University; the International Fundraising Congress; McCann Worldgroup; McGraw-Hill Financial; the Obama Foundation; SXSW; Syracuse University; TEDxCornellU; UNICEF; WeWork; and the Woodrow Wilson Center, among other venues.
